I am the Bad Wolf.

I am the Bad Wolf, I create myself.
As I mentioned in my last post, I have become a ridiculously huge Doctor Who fan. My favorite companion so far is Rose Tyler - who is a total bad ass! ^__^

I won't say too much, in case some of you haven't seen the entire series featuring the 9th Doctor yet. (Doubtful, I know! Who hasn't watched Doctor Who? I'm just a late bloomer! Harhar.)

The Bad Wolf meme is by far one of my favorite themes within the series and I was dying to have something that referenced both it and my new-found Whovian-ness. >_< Luckily for me, a very talented person (or team of people, based on the e-mail I received with my order lol) on Etsy is selling a bracelet that totally encompasses and represents those two very things! (Look here!) What's a gal to do? Spend $14.95 on a handmade bracelet! Duh! ^_^

The artist/crafter/whatever you'd like to call him/her/them is very talented! I know this blog seems advertorial-ish, but none of my posts are paid for - I swear! Lol Just take a look at their shop and thank me later. ^_~

Adorable Mini Figures

A very good friend of mine, Nikki, stopped by my work place recently to pick up a gift I had for her, and I was very pleasantly surprised when she help up this cutie-patootie:

Are you all "squeeee"-ing with me? Because you should be!  For those of you that don't immediately recognize him by his trademark features (nose, ear, hairline lol,) it's Christopher Eccleston as the 9th Doctor!

I've recently developed into a huge Doctor Who fanatic. When she gave it to me I simply couldn't stop myself from grinning ear-to-ear like a maniac. And it's the 9th Doctor! C'mon folks! You never forget your first Doctor.

I was so awestruck by how close the likeness was (taking into consideration that it's a chibi figure of him) that I contacted her to asked if I could commission her to make a Cyberman figure. I always knew that Nikki was ridiculously talented but take a look at this! For such a tiny figure she managed to put in little details, like the headphone-esque thing coming out of it's head, the chest piece, and the very sad eyes. ;__;

Nikki might be opening a Storenvy shop soon, so I hope you'll all keep an eye out for it! And for the record, she can do other minis - not just Doctor Who figures! ;)

Making a Custom Macaron Necklace

A couple of weeks ago I received a custom order for a pink macaron necklace with a name on it I hadn't been making macaron necklaces for very long, so I didn't know if I could figure out how to add a name to it, but I really didn't want to disappoint this customer since it was my first custom order!

*Photos taken from HeartfulSweets Instagram*
After molding the polymer clay and using a craft superglue to hold it together, I added a pink rhinestone to the cream filling and began painting it with by hand with a 2/0 nylon paintbrush.

Hand painting the Macaron with limited edition Coach-brand pink lacquer
In a make-it-or-break-it trial-and-error test, I used a clear sticker sheet to apply the name. It was a little tedious cutting out the fancy script exactly so that it wouldn't look haphazard. I did two types of clear coats (decoupage and acrylic sealer) on it (one with glitter for a little shimmer.) Then I let it air dry for 24-hours.

Customer requested I put a name on the macaron
After the macaron was dry, I packaged it so that it would look like a little treat and included an origami star, because I want everyone's dreams to come true. (●⌒∇⌒●)
Finished, packaged product

I can make macarons in just about any color, with or without rhinestones, with or without shimmer... don't hesitate to contact me if you're interested in getting a macaron! (I usually make necklaces, but I could make keychains or cell/bag charms!) Send me an e-mail at heart.beth@gmail.com if you want to talk about placing an order. My First House of Knox Bracelet

House of Knox is a new and upcoming brand designed by a friend of mine, and I've been wanting a bracelet by her for a long time but couldn't decide on just one. To this day I'm undecided so imagine my delight when she stopped by my apartment to gift me a bracelet!

House of Knox Birthstone Bracelet
The birthstone bracelet was in my top five favorite House of Knox designs, mainly because of it's simplicity. It can easily go with any outfit (or lack thereof. Wink, wink.)  The birthstones on my bracelet are for February (amethyst) and November (topaz.) She used a silver plated chain and Swarovski bicone crystals to represent the birthstones.

They haven't had an official opening for the web shop yet but if you're interested in any of the designs, you can e-mail her  with a special request.
